How to find and install both Skype and Simplyphone drivers

To operate your Simplyphone Internet phone, you have to download and install the Skype software and the Simplyphone driver.

Download the Skype software and the Simplyphone driver

  1. Download the latest version of the Skype software at www.skype.com.
    (The minimum version of 1.0.0.106 or later is required)
  2. Download the latest version of the CallMe driver for your operating system here.

As easy as 1-2-3:
Install Skype - Connect your phone - Install phone driver

  1. Start the Skype software and follow the instructions on the screen. Once you're finished, a new icon will appear in the system tray on your desktop:
    Skype has been successfully installed. : Skype software is successfully installed and running
    Check the Skype connection. : Skype software successfully installed but not connected. Please check your internet connection.
  2. Connect the USB cable of your simplyphone to a free USB port on your computer
    If you see the the text "VOIP - Phone" in the phone's display, your simplyphone is correctly connected.
  3. Open the zip file you downloaded with the CallMe driver and run the .exe file to install the driver.
  4. The following screen will appear during the installation of CallMe

Another program wants to use Skype.

Select "Allow this program to use Skype" and click OK.

Upon completion a new icon will appear in the system tray on your desktop:
Simplyphone and Skype are successfully connected. : simplyphone and Skype are successfully connected
Run Skype first. : Please run Skype first
Reconnect Simplyphone. : Incorrectly connected, please reconnect your simplyphone to the computer

Connect your Simplyphone to the computer's sound device

  1. Go to Start in the taskbar
  2. Go to Settings (only in Windows 2000)
  3. Go to Control Panel
  4. Open Sounds & Audio Devices (Sounds & Multimedia in Windows 2000)
  5. Click on the Audio tab
  6. In Sound Playback, select [USB Audio Device] from the list
  7. In Sound Recording, select [USB Audio Device] from the list
  8. Press OK to save your changes and close the Control Panel


How to use your Simplyphone

  • With the buttons “IN” and “OUT”, you can jump between the Skype menus, “Start”, “Call list”, “Dial” and “Contacts”
  • With the arrows up and down, you can select your contacts inside the menus “Call list” and “Contacts”
  • With the button “Green Telephone”, you can CALL. This button also activates the Skype program on your computer screen automatically
  • With the button “Red Telephone”, you HANG UP/stop the call. If you push this button twice, Skype will disappear from your computer screen and be found as an Skype is OK! icon in the taskbar
  • With the button “C”, you can erase the number you put in manually for SkypeOut calls
  • With the buttons “0-9” you enter/dial SkypeOut numbers or pre-assigned numbers – so called Speed-Dial


Make calls using Speed-Dial

  • Add a Skype name to your contact list, e.g. “www.simplyphone.com”.
  • Mark the name/contact by pressing the left button on your mouse.
  • Press the right button on your mouse and go to “Assign Speed-Dial”.
  • Assign a number for your contact, e.g. “1” and press OK.
  • Press “1” and the “Green Telephone” button to make the call

Skype Contacts list.

Make SkypeOut calls to an ordinary fixed line or mobile phone

  • Please note that SkypeOut calls require the purchase of SkypeOut credits!!!
  • Dial "00" + the "country number" + the “phone number”, then press the "Green Telephone" button to make the call. Example: 00352268468, then press the "Green Telephone" button


Adjust options (volume and ring style / tone)

  • Click on the icon Simplyphone and Skype are both OK! in the taskbar with the right button of your mouse, select “Configure” in order to adjust the volume and the ring style/tone.
